Affordable entry-level walkie-talkie ideal for traveling out of cell range, backing up vehicles, or handing to the new kid without losing sleep if it isn't returned. An upgrade from the UV-5R, the UV-82c has a louder 1-watt speaker, a more solid case with larger buttons, and a new chipset and PCB board that outperforms the range, accuracy, and output of the previous Baofeng chipsets.
To keep costs low, these are pre-programmed. If you need additional channels added, there will be a $25 programming charge. (per order, not per radio)
